SRINAGAR
Poet and noted cultural activist, Sajad Hussain passed away Thursday evening in Srinagar. Family sources said that Sajad passed away following a heart attack.
Adbee Markaz Kamraz (AMK), and ruling National Conference have condoled the sad demise Sajjad Hussain.
In its condolence message AMK said, “As a known poet and screenplay writer Sajad brought into focus the rich cultural and traditional values of Kashmiri civilization. While serving in various capacities at the Department of Information, Sajjad Hussain promoted the art, cultural and language of Kashmir seriously and sincerely.”
Sajad is also credited with introducing the Opera form of theater in the State, an AMK statement added.
The statement further said that his death is a loss to Kashmiri culture and language which he served throughout his professional life.
Meanwhile, ruling National Conference has also paid rich tributes to the deceased soul.
