SRINAGAR

A day after high level Enquiry Committee constituted by PHE Minister Sham Lal Sharma revealed irregularities worth Rs 12 crore in Communication and Capacity Development Unit (CCDU) responsible for quality check of water in Jammu and Srinagar, Executive Director CCDU Thursday refuted the allegations and accused Sharma of trying to settle political scores through the inquiry.

“Since I happen to be a relative of the former PHE and I & FC Minster, the present minister Sham Lal Sharma is trying to settle his political scores at the cost of my image and working”, Mir Najeeb said in a press conference today.

Talking to reporters Mir Najeeb said, “The information facts and figures published in Jammu based daily on 18.04.2013 in respect of CCDU are incorrect and not based on facts. The committee setup by the Minster PHE Sham Lal Sharma has furnished the report on the instructions and under the guidance of the Minster simply to settle political scores with the former PHE and I&FC Minster”.

“This whole drama is being staged to cover-up the lapse committed by the Minster in his erstwhile Ministry”, he said adding “The report furnished by the present committee is frivolous as it has ignored the working of the organization in the valley as well as Ladakh. They have not even bothered to make on spot inspection of the office and the record of the organization, instead, hatefully gave its report to placate the Minster for their own interest”.

He said the organization is open to any independent of impartial enquiry through house committee to look into the working of the organization so that the reality comes to the surface.
