Three passengers died and 31 others injured many of them critically as the vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in South Kashmir Tuesday late night. The bus was returning from Pahalgam and was carrying passengers from a same area in Kuglam district who had gone for a picnic to the tourist resort.
Sources said Life that the vehicle was on way to Kulgam at about 10:45 PM, when it skidded off and fell into a few metres deep ditch. “Three persons died on spot while as 31 were injured,” sources said.
Local sources said that the accident took place in the Bijbehara area in Islamabad district and the rescue could not be started in time because of the time factor. They said that the accident seems to be caused by the rash driving.
25 injured are being treated at Srinagar while as 6 are admitted in Islamabad.
