Authorities have imposed a strict curfew in Sopore Wednesday for the second consecutive day following the killing of a youth two days earlier.

Reports said that troops have blocked roads with wooden poles and concertina wires to foil any protest march.

Heavy deployments of police and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has blocked road crossings, using coils of concertina wires, in the town to enforce the curfew.

Shops, public transport, businesses and educational institutions remained closed.

A youth Arshad Ahmad Shah was killed Monday in firing by the men in uniform when protestors allegedly attacked them at the site of a gunfight where a foreign militant was killed.
