SRINAGAR: A pilgrim lost their life on Friday as a result of a fatal fall along the Baltal trek in the Ganderbal district.
An official source informed Kashmir Scroll news agency that the deceased, identified as Vijay Kumar Shah, a 50-year-old resident of Tumba village in Rohtas District, Bihar, was accompanied by another individual named Mamta Kumari.
The incident occurred while they were returning from the Holy Cave, Shah fell from the trail near Kali Mata Track, resulting in his immediate demise.
The body of the deceased has been recovered and is currently being transported to the Baltal Base Camp Hospital.
The necessary procedural formalities are being undertaken. (KS)
