All Parties Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani Monday said that “unlike India”, China has not attacked and forcibly occupied the Pakistan administered Kashmir (Azad Kashmir) but the presence of Chinese army in Azad Kashmir is under a mutual agreement between Pakistan and China and it is a part of the Pak-China economic corridor process and “the pro-freedom people have no reason to oppose this move”.
The Hurriyat amalgam was reacting to statement of former J&K CM, Omar Abdullah, who wrote on Twitter about the presence of Chinese army Personnel in PaK.
Press Trust of India – a union government run news agency – had reported that China’s Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) personnel were seen guarding LoC on the other side of fence in Nowgam sector in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Asserting that China was a “strong supporter of Right to Self Determination of Kashmiri people”, Hurriyat Conference (g) in its routine press release said this evening said, “so it is in no way fair to compare the Chinese army with such a cruel and oppressive occupational forces of India who are carrying out genocides of the Kashmiri people in a planned manner since last 68 years.”
“India has long pending boarder disputes with China and many border states of India including Arunachal Pradesh are still a cause of tension between the two countries. The two neighbours sometimes share bitter relations over these issues but as far as the state of Jammu & Kashmir is concerned, it is quite different issue. If there is any misunderstanding, we (Hurriyat Conference) believe that after attaining freedom from the Indian forced occupation, it can be settled in a friendly atmosphere and China will never do any such action which will endanger the sovereignty and integrate of Jammu & Kashmir,” Hurriyat Conference further said in the statement.
It said that Kashmiri nation as a whole “is extremely thankful to China for its unconditional support to our freedom struggle and this country does not recognize the illegal and forced occupation of India in Kashmir”. “Omar Abdullah has no moral justification to criticize the pro-freedom people because he is accepting the Indian forced occupation in Kashmir and is providing a certificate to their illegal control. How can you lecture people to do such things over which you yourself do not act? It is the hypocrisy and it cannot be the way of a principled man.”
