Following emergency cabinet meetings, PM Modi called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and stressed the importance of dialogue. He highlighted the need to protect nearly 9 million Indian nationals in the region and safeguard critical oil supply routes through the Strait of Hormuz, which are at risk due to the conflict.

The review comes amid growing concerns over potential disruptions to global supply chains, with the government closely monitoring developments to protect national interests and prevent any adverse effects on domestic availability of essential commodities.
