SRINAGAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in a tragic bus accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district.

Taking to X, the Prime Minister said he was pained by the incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the accident.
Announcing financial assistance, the Prime Minister stated that Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) will be given to the next of kin of those who lost their lives, while Rs 50,000 will be provided to the injured.
Earlier this morning, fifteen persons were killed and sixteen others injured after a passenger bus met with an accident near the Jalo area on the Ramnagar–Udhampur route.
