SRINAGAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended greetings to doctors and chartered accountants on the occasion of Doctors’ Day and Chartered Accountants’ Day, lauding their dedication and describing their contributions as vital to India’s progress.
In separate posts on X, the prime minister said doctors have earned the trust and gratitude of millions through their unwavering commitment, compassion and service, often while working under challenging circumstances.
“On Doctors’ Day, greetings to our dedicated doctors, whose hard work, compassion and commitment form the backbone of India’s healthcare system. Their tireless efforts, often in the most challenging circumstances, have earned the trust and gratitude of countless people,” Modi said.
Highlighting the government’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat”, Modi said doctors would continue to play a central role in expanding preventive healthcare, advancing medical research, embracing innovation and ensuring affordable and accessible healthcare for every citizen.
He also noted that India’s healthcare infrastructure has witnessed significant expansion over the past decade, with the number of medical colleges more than doubling and both undergraduate and postgraduate medical seats increasing substantially.
According to the prime minister, the expansion is creating more opportunities for aspiring doctors, strengthening the country’s healthcare workforce and improving access to quality medical care across the country.
Greeting the chartered accountant fraternity, Modi described CAs as trusted partners in India’s economic journey, saying their work has been instrumental in strengthening the nation’s financial ecosystem.
He said chartered accountants promote transparency and professional excellence, support businesses, encourage entrepreneurship and inspire investor confidence.
“As India moves towards becoming a developed nation, the efforts of our CAs help create an environment where enterprises can flourish and opportunities can expand for all,” Modi said.
“Their expertise contributes significantly to economic growth and nation-building,” he added.
