SRINAGAR: At least 25 people, including the driver, were injured after a Tata passenger bus met with an accident at Kawnar near Nasrullahpora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.
Quoting officials news agency KNT reported that the bus was on its way from Beerwah to Budgam when the accident occurred. The exact cause of the crash was not immediately known.
Before emergency services reached the spot, local residents of Nasrullahpora rushed to the scene and rescued the passengers, helping evacuate the injured from the damaged bus.
All the injured were shifted to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Budgam for treatment. Hospital officials said the condition of the injured was being assessed, and no immediate information was available regarding the severity of their injuries.
Police have registered the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.
