Terming the reports about Prime Minister Narendra Modi scrutinizing the CMP draft as false, the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Sunday said it is the party Chief Amit Shah who is actively involved in formal and informal dialogue over government formation with the PDP.

“Prime Minster is the head of the country and PDP cannot enter or talk about government formation with country head. In every government formation process agreement takes place between two parties and their leaders. From our side we have authorized unanimously our party chief Amit Shah to hold deliberations with PDP leaders,” a top BJP leader from New Delhi whishing anonymity told KNS.

Meanwhile, close sources in the BJP told KNS that BJP and PDP have reached to the pact and the formal announcement of the government formation will be likely made on February 9. “Both PDP and BJP are trying to clear the last obstacles before coming together. The announcements about the government will be likely on February 7,” BJP sources said.

Ram Madhav in an interview with a national TV channel on Saturday hinted at the possible formation of a new government in Jammu and Kashmir soon in the wake of an understanding with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“Talks are on. We, the BJP are trying to form the government soon so that we can give Jammu and Kashmir a good government and to keep the problems of people at bay. Soon, you will get to hear the good news,” he said.

It is pertinent to mention here that after the Assembly polls threw a fractured verdict with the PDP emerging as the single largest party and BJP second largest party, the BJP leadership has been in talks with PDP leaders for government formation.

The PDP got a majority of seats in the Kashmir region, while the BJP got most of its seats from the Jammu region and there is stalemate over the next government.
