Srinagar police on Saturday arrested two drug peddlers from Srinagar and recovered 40 bottles of codeine phosphate from their possession.
The spokesman said that a police party of Police Post Chanapora laid a naka at Mandir Post. During naka checking two persons identified as Umar Gul Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Natipora and Shanawaz Ahmad Mir, son of Nazir Ahmad Mir, a resident of A/P Azad Basti Natipora Srinagar were apprehended and 40 bottles of Codeine phosphate were recovered from their possession.
In this regard, a case FIR number 87/2018 under section 8/21 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Sadder and investigation was taken up.
