SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police in North Kashmir’s Sopore arrested a drug peddler and recovered a psychotropic substance from his possession.
According to officials, a police party from Police Station Dangiwacha, during a routine naka checking at Behrampora, intercepted a suspicious individual. Upon search, 72 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus were recovered.
“The accused has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Rehman Bhat, a resident of Malgonipora Watergam. He was taken into custody and shifted to the police station for further proceedings. A case under FIR No. 76/2025 has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha under relevant sections of law. Further investigation is underway,” police said.
Police have reiterated their commitment to tackling drug trafficking and have urged the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to help ensure a drug-free society.
