SRINAGAR: Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, the police in Pulwama on Monday announced the arrest of a notorious drug peddler and the recovery of contraband substances from his possession.
A police team from Police Post Newa, while patrolling in the Wurwan area, arrested the drug peddler identified as Mudasir Ahmed Bhat, son of Gh Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, a resident of Parigam. During the search, 5 grams of heroin were recovered from his possession, a police spokesman said.
Accordingly, the police have registered a case under FIR number 04/25 under relevant sections of the law at Police Station Pulwama, and an investigation has been initiated.
The police have urged residents to cooperate in their efforts to eliminate the drug menace from society, the spokesman added. (KNO)
