Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 400 grams of charas from her possession. Meanwhile, police in Baramulla arrested a smuggler and recovered 42 Kgs of forest produce from his possession.

A police statement Saturday afternoon said that a Police party from Police Station Parimpora headed by SHO Parimpora Shri Asish Mishra laid a naka at Mujgund highway.

“During the naka checking, a lady Farida Bano @ Fari daughter of Abdul Rehman Sheikh, resident of Shalteng was arrested and about 400gms of Charas was recovered from her possession. Srinagar police has registered a case in this regard,” the statement said.

The statement added that a party of Police Station Boniyar headed by SHO Boniyar Tariq Ahmad laid a naka near Bazaar Boniyar.

“During the naka checking 42 Kgs of forest produce Tripatre was recovered from a vehicle bearing registration number JK05D-5315. The vehicle was seized and two persons Tariq Ahmad Sheikh son of Nazir Ahmad resident of Nowshera and Ghulam Hassan Ganie son of Ghulam Rasool resident of Trikawagan, Boniyar were arrested,” the statement said.
