Five gamblers have been arrested by police in Gasoo, Hazratbal area on Monday.
Acting on a tip off, a police party led by SHO Police Station Zakoora raided a gambling place and recovered stake money of Rs 5,900.
The gamblers were identified as Mehraj-u-Din Sofi son Ghulam Muhammad resident of Inderhama, Mohammad Shafi Sheikh son of Mohammad Shaban resident of Mulfaq and Shamim Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Rehman resident of Gasoo, Hazratbal.
FIR number 10/16 under section 13 has been registered in this regard, police said.
Meanwhile, police said that a man namely Abdul Rashid Khatana son of Hakim Din resident of Badibahar Nagassari, Kupwara was injured after being attacked by a leopard last evening.
He was shifted to District Hospital Kupwara for treatment.
