Police Arrest Three Long-Term Absconders After Decades on the Run

   

SRINAGAR: Police in South Kashmir’s Shopian have apprehended three long-term absconders who had been evading arrest for several decades.

The arrested individuals include Mushtaq Ahmad Doobi, son of Ab. Salam Doobi of Chotigam, wanted in FIR No. 369/1988 under Sections 436A and 379 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC); Ab. Rashid Khan, son of Mangta Khan of Manloo, wanted in FIR No. 162/1987 under Sections 353 and 427 RPC; and Mohd. Yousuf Mir, son of Mohd. Abdullah Mir of Wangam Achabal, Anantnag, wanted in FIR No. 360/2000 under Sections 454 and 380 RPC.

Authorities said the trio had been deliberately evading the due process of law for over three decades and were involved in various criminal cases. Their arrest followed sustained and coordinated efforts by Shopian Police to trace long-term absconders.

The accused have been produced before the Hon’ble Court, Shopian, for further legal proceedings. Shopian Police reiterated its commitment to public safety and the rule of law, vowing to act decisively against individuals attempting to evade justice.
