SRINAGAR: Continuing efforts to combat drug-related issues, the police have apprehended two drug peddlers in Baramulla and Kulgam, seizing contraband substances from them.

In Baramulla, a police team at Ghat Palhallan checkpoint intercepted Ab Ahad Dar, a resident of Ghat Palhallan, recovering 1.5kgs of charas powder from his possession. Dar has been arrested and is currently in custody at the Police Station.

In Kulgam, the police, led by SHO Police Station Behibagh and supervised by DySP PC Hatipora Shri Aarif Hussain-JKPS, arrested a drug peddler during a cordon and search operation at Munnad.

The operation revealed 106 kgs of Poppy Straw concealed in three nylon bags, along with a digital weighing machine and a grinder with three jars at Feroz Ahmad Khan’s residence. The accused is in custody at the Police Station.

Cases under relevant law sections have been registered, and investigations are underway.
