Drug Peddler

Police have arrested two drug peddlers at Bandipora and Awantipora, recovered huge quantity of drugs and bhang from them.

On specific information, police laid a naka at Wullar vantage headed by SHO Aragam Masood ul Hassan. “Around 05:00 am in, an Alto vehicle bearing registration number JK15-2477 was intercepted. On search 192 bottles of Codeine Phosphate and 171 strips of Spasmoproxyvon were recovered from the vehicle. A notorious drug paddler Mohammad Yousuf Wani son of Ghulam Rasool Wani resident of Pathkote Bandipora who was driving the vehicle was arrested. A case FIR No 28/2015 under section 8/21 NDPS was registered against him in Police Station Aragam and investigation was taken up,” a police statement said Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, police intercepted a pedestrian who was identified as Shakeel Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Nabi Dar resident of Panzgam. “On his search raw material of bhang, weighing about 02 kilograms was recovered from his possession. A case FIR number 137/15 under section 8/20 NDPS was registered against him in Police Post Reshipora and investigation was taken up.”

Police said that one person died while another was injured in road accident in Kashmir.

A lady died while a minor boy was injured in two separate road accidents in Islamabad and Handwara.

In Islamabad, a Sumo bearing registration number JK08A-5082 hit and injured a pedestrian lady Khatija wife of Abdul Samad Chopan resident of Kemigund Uttraso at Halkha Uttraso Achabal.

The injured lady succumbed to her injuries while on way to hospital. After completion of medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.

In Handwara, a Sumo vehicle bearing registration number JK01X- 2345 hit and injured a boy Adnan Hameed Mala resident of Super Naghama Kralgund near flourmills Watayan Handwara.

The injured was shifted to District Hospital Handwara for treatment wherefrom he was referred to Srinagar hospital for further treatment. Handwara police has registered a case in this regard.

Meanwhile two shops and one house were damaged in fire.

Two shops and one residential house damaged in two different fire incidents in Islamabad.

Fire broke out in two shops belonging to Tariq Ahmad Ahangar and Muzafar Jeelani residents of Kadipora at Mattan Adda, Islamabad, resulting in damage to both the shops. During extinguishing of fire, one person Bilal Ahmad Ahangar received burn injuries and was shifted to Sub District Hospital Islamabad for treatment.

In another fire incident, fire broke out in three storied residential house belonging to Mohammad Akbar Malik resident of Gawas in the jurisdiction of Police Station Dooru, Islamabad, resulting in complete damage to the structure.

Fire tenders brought fire under control with the help of police and locals.
