Police Arrest Two Fugitives After 13 Years on the Run in Ganderbal

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Police in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal have apprehended two long-time fugitives who had been evading arrest for over 13 years, bringing closure to two long-pending criminal cases.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mudasir Ahmad War, son of Nazir Ahmad War, a resident of Batpora Sopore, and Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, son of Ali Mohammad Wani, a resident of Lolpora Kunzar Tangmarg. They were wanted in connection with FIR No. 34/2013 under Sections 392, 511, 34 RPC and FIR No. 17/2013 under Sections 366, 109 RPC.

Acting on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal (JKPS), a special team led by SHO Safapora SI Gulzar Hussain tracked the duo to Bangalore and Maharashtra, where they were arrested following sustained and meticulous efforts. Their capture ends years of evasion and ensures they will now face due legal proceedings.

Police said the arrests demonstrate their continued commitment to ensuring that no offender remains beyond the reach of law. “Crime has no expiry,” a police spokesperson said, commending the perseverance of the investigating team.

Police reaffirmed their determination to continue the pursuit of all offenders and absconders in the interest of justice and public safety.
