Ganderbal: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed of solving a braid chopping incident by arresting two persons.The incident has happened last month in the Wakura area of Ganderbal district where a girl alleged that her Braid was chopped off.

Addressing a press conference at police station Ganderbal, SSP Ganderbal Fayaz Ahmed Lone said that the girl identified two persons involved in braid chopping during an identification parade.

“Soon after the incident we registered a case under FIR number 14/17 at police station Ganderbal and started investigation. During the investigation the girl identified the two persons who had chopped off her Braid. The identification parade was done in front of the magistrate.”

He said that both the persons have been arrested and further investigation have been taken up.
SSP said that as per initial investigation the duo had gone to the area with the intention of theft.
“Taking advantage of the braid chopping they thought people will be out on the streets and it will give them a safe passage in the area,” SSP said.

The arrested duo are from the khag area of Budgam district.
