Kulgam police on Sunday arrested a drug peddler and recovered 6.2 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.
The spokesman in a statement said that the Police party of Police Post Jawahar Tunnel, during Naka checking arrested one person namely Surinder Kumar son of Nasib Chand resident of Manwal Bimyal Pathankote Punjab who was found carrying poppy straw in his vehicle No JK05C-9469.
“On this instance case FIR No.116/2018 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in police station Qazigund and investigation in the case is going on,” the police spokesman said.
