According to police spokesman, Shopian police arrested an OGW who was also involved in a grenade throwing case and recovered ammunition from him.
“Shopian Police along with 62RR and 14 Bn CRPF arrested an OGW Zakir Ahmad Malik resident of Alishapora, Zainapora and recovered AK ammunition from him,” said the spokesman.
He further said that Zakir was involved in grenade throwing on an Army at Imamsahib on 22-09-2013.
“The Motor bike that was used by Zakir while hurling the grenade was also seized,” the spokesman added.
A case FIR no. 60/2013 under section 3/4 ES act, 307 RPC and 7/27 IAA was registered against him in Police Station Zainapora. Investigation has been started.
