SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested three persons involved in illegal extraction of minerals in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Police party from Police Post Toll Plaza headed by Incharge PP Toll Plaza SI Ishfaq Ahmad arrested 03 persons namely Nazir Ahmad Ganaie, son-in-law of Mohd Yousf Dar, Javeed Ahmad Dar son of Ab. Rasheed Dar and Feroz Ahmad Dar son of Gh. Hassan Dar all residents of Dogripora involved in illegal extraction of sand and damaging embankment of river Jehulm at Kaichkoot Awantipora. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No 177/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mining activities in their neighbourhood. JK Police assures complete anonymity and strict action against the violators as per law.
