Police on Monday apprehended a youth along with 2,70,000 fake currency from Uthroo hamlet of North Kashmir’s Pattan town.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer Pattan, Syed Fayaz told CNS that after receiving inputs that a youth hailing from Kunus Bandipora is in procession of fake currency and he is intending to circulate it in the market, police erected a naka in Pattan chowk and apprehended him along with the fake currency.

The police official identified him as Bashir Mir son Ghulam Hassan. “We have registered a case vide FIR number 51/2014 under section 489 ABC of RPC. More arrests are expected in coming days,” he said.
