SRINAGAR: Anantnag Police on Friday attached immovable property belonging to a notorious drug peddler under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
The seized property comprises a double-storey residential house with an attic and land measuring 32 marlas located at Gund Bagh Seer Hamdan, Mattan. It belongs to Zubair Ramzan Ganie, son of Mohd Ramzan Ganie, a resident of the same area.
According to police officials, the property was identified as illegally acquired during the course of an investigation into FIR No. 04/2024 under Sections 8/20 and 29 of the NDPS Act and Section 48 of the Excise Act, registered at Police Station Mattan.
Preliminary findings established that the attached assets were raised using proceeds from illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. Ganie is currently detained under preventive custody at District Jail Bhaderwah, Jammu, under the PIT-NDPS Act.
