SRINAGAR: Police in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday attached immovable property worth nearly Rs 1.10 crore under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act as part of a major crackdown on narcotics networks operating in the district.
According to officials, the attached property includes a double-storeyed residential house belonging to alleged drug peddler Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, a resident of Nowshara Srigufwara.
The action was carried out by Police Station Srigufwara in connection with FIR No. 54/2025 registered under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.
Police said the property was identified as illegally acquired through proceeds generated from narcotics trafficking. The attachment was carried out after completion of all legal formalities prescribed under the law.
Reaffirming its commitment to eliminating the drug menace from the district, Anantnag Police said strict action against persons involved in narcotics smuggling would continue, with a focus also on dismantling assets and financial networks created through the illegal drug trade.
