SRINAGAR: Police in central kashmir’s Srinagar district have attached a double-storey residential house on eight marlas of land at Wantpora, Eidgah, belonging to notorious drug peddler Basit Bilal Dar, son of Bilal Ahmad Dar.
The property is valued at approximately Rs 1 crore.
The accused is linked to two separate cases: FIR No. 59/2024 under Sections 8/21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act registered at Nowhatta Police Station, and FIR No. 114/2025 under Sections 8/22–29 of the NDPS Act registered at Safakadal Police Station.
Police said the property was attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, after investigations revealed that it had been acquired through illicit proceeds from drug trafficking. The attachment was carried out in the presence of two independent witnesses, following all prescribed legal procedures.
Under the attachment order, the owner is prohibited from selling, leasing, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the property until further notice.
Jammu and Kashmir Police reaffirmed their commitment to combat drug trafficking and dismantle the financial networks that sustain the narcotics trade, targeting both offenders and their illicit proceeds. The public has been urged to share credible information to aid efforts against drug-related crimes.
