SRINAGAR: Police in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday attached a double-storey shopping complex valued at approximately Rs 1.30 crore under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The property belongs to Mohammad Amin Sofi, son of Abdul Rahim Sofi, a resident of Patikhas in Verinag, who is involved in multiple cases registered under the NDPS Act at Police Station Dooru, police said.
According to police, the attachment forms part of efforts to identify and seize assets allegedly acquired through proceeds linked to drug trafficking and to disrupt the financial networks associated with narcotics-related activities.
Anantnag Police said they would continue taking legal action against those involved in drug trafficking as part of efforts to curb the drug menace and protect society from the effects of substance abuse.
