SRINAGAR: Srinagar Police has attached an immovable property worth around Rs 4 crore belonging to an alleged drug peddler in Budgam district under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, officials said on Monday.
The action was carried out by Police Station Khanyar in connection with FIR No. 04/2026 registered under Sections 8 and 21 of the NDPS Act against Fayaz Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hussain Dar, a resident of Ichgam in Budgam.
The attached property comprises a two-storeyed residential house with an attic, along with five kanals and 17 marlas of land bearing Khasra Nos. 415/416 at Ichgam. Police estimated its market value at approximately Rs 4 crore.
The property was attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act after it was identified as an allegedly illegally acquired asset derived from proceeds of narcotic drug trafficking, police said.
The action is part of the police’s ongoing efforts to target the financial networks of drug traffickers and seize assets allegedly generated through the illicit drug trade.
Srinagar Police said it would continue action against drug traffickers, their associates and properties allegedly linked to narcotics-related activities.
