Police Book Six for Unlawful Mineral Transport in Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police in South Kashmir’s Kulgam have seized six vehicles (tractors) and arrested six individuals for their involvement in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.

“A police party headed by Incharge Police Post Frisal seized four tractors during a naka checking at Batpora and arrested their drivers. In a separate operation, two more tractors were seized and two drivers arrested at a checkpoint established by the police party of Police Station DH Pora at HM Gori crossing,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.

Accordingly, cases have been registered under FIR No. 36/2025 at Police Station Yaripora and FIR No. 37/2025 at Police Station DH Pora under relevant sections of law. Further investigation is underway in both cases.
