Police along with volunteer contractors and locals constructed a footbridge which connects Shopian with Kandi areas.
“Under the supervision of SP Shopian Altaf Ahmad Khan police constructed a footbridge for the people of Shopian as some persons slipped in the stream yesterday and were saved by the locals,” a police statement said Saturday evening.
Police constructed the footbridge along with volunteer contractors and locals today morning connecting Shopian with Kandi areas like Keller, Mastpora, Narpora, Shadaab, Manloo, Zoura as most of the population of District Shopian is living in Kandi belt and it is the only connecting bridge. The bridge was damaged during devastating floods of September 2014, the statement said.
