SRINAGAR: Police in North Kashmir’s Baramulla have arrested two persons and recovered stolen property worth Rs 5 lakh in connection with a theft case reported earlier this week.
According to officials, on June 3, Police Station Pattan received a complaint from Mohammad Amin Dar, a subcontractor with Lumino Industries Ltd, regarding the theft of Dog Conductor (wire) from a work site at Mamoosa during the night of June 2–3.
Following the registration of FIR No. 99/2025, an investigation was launched. “Using technical inputs and human intelligence, police identified vehicles involved in the theft. Subsequent interrogation led to the arrest of two individuals: Shabir Ahmad Tabardar, son of Ali Mohammad Tabardar, resident of Singhpora, and Umer Nabi Khanday, son of Gh. Nabi Khanday, resident of Zangam,” police said.
Police said the stolen wire was recovered from the accused, and the vehicles used in the commission of the crime have also been seized. Further investigation is ongoing.
Police have urged the public to report any suspicious activity and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order in the district.
