Continuing its crackdown on separatists, police on Sunday arrested two activists of Hurriyat (G) and raided many houses.

Police arrested Syed Imtiyaz Hyder from his residence during a nocturnal raid in district Budgam, sources said.

Hyder is affiliated with Tehreek-e-Hurriyat led by octogenarian Syed Ali Geelani.

A former police man, Hyder is termed among the “most active separatist worker” by police.

Police also arrested Ghulam Mohammad Bungroo of Soibugh area of the same district during a nocturnal raid, Hurriyat (G) sources said.

Police have started arresting separatist leaders and activists ahead of upcoming assembly elections.

Yasin Malik, Shabir Shah, Nayeem Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Moulana Tari are among the frontline leaders arrested so far.
