Police on Wednesday claimed that they cracked the blind murder case of a girl who was found dead in Chee Darpora, Islamabad last week.

A statement said that Police acquired a major breakthrough and solved the murder case by arresting the accused Nasir Bashir Sheikh son of Bashir Ahmad Sheikh resident of Joyibal Veeri.

Pertinently, on January 30, 2014 Police found body of a girl in Chee Darpora area who was later identified as Iqra Nisar Khan daughter of Nisar Ahmad Khan resident of Ladibal, Bijbehara in district Islamabad.

A case FIR No. 08 /2014 under section 302 was registered and investigation was started. After conducting post mortem, the body was handed over to the legal heirs for burial.

Police statement said that a SIT (Special Investigation Team) was constituted under the supervision of Dy SP Hqr Islamabad. During the investigation, some suspects were called for questioning. During the questioning a suspect Nasir Bashir Sheikh who is also a relative of the deceased confessed the commission of murder.

Police said that during investigation it has surfaced that “jealousy” has been main motive behind the murder moreover all other angles are also being investigated.

Police statement further said that the case will be finalized after the forensic and medical expert opinions are received.
