Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik was detained by Jammu and Kashmir police during a protest march against civilian killings in Kulgam, near Partap Park, Srinagar.

The spokesman said that scores of people associated with Malik held a protest march. However, Malik was detained along with his twelve associates.
The spokesman added that Malik after addressing a press conference called by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) at Abi Guzar tried to march towards Ghanta Ghar against the killings of three civilians in Kulgam district.
However, a police contingent deployed in the area foiled the march and detained him.
Earlier, Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest at his residence in Nigeen.
