Police disallows joint Press Conference of Geelani, Malik, Mirwaiz; trio arrested.

Police on Thursday bared joint resistance leadership Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik from addressing a press conference and later arrested them.

The presser was scheduled at the at the residence of Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani.

After police disallowed the trio from addressing the press who had reached Hyderpora, the trio held protest against the establishment.

They have been send to Humhama police station, our correspondent reported.

The press conference was scheduled for the boycott call of upcoming parliamentary by-polls.

Before they were bundled into the police vehicle, the trio called for the boycott  of the polls, reports said .

Meanwhile, two photojournalists were allegedly assaulted by police.

An eyewitness informed Kashmir Life over phone, “A police official grabbed Tauseef Mustafa of AFP by neck while  Mubashir Khan of Greater Kashmir was also assaulted and threatened.”
