Police Tuesday evening issued a statement about registration of FIR against “rumour mongers” which is being produced verbatim.
“Recently some unknown rumour mongers in order to attract youth towards militancy and to create disruption in normal life in the valley had uploaded a fake and baseless news on social media about killing of one constable during an encounter at Bijbehara and death of one person namely Naseer Ahmad Dar son of Nisar Ahmad Dar resident of Zirpora,” the police statement said.
“The intention of rumour mongers for spreading such fake and false news is to disrupt the peace and instigating youth to resort to stone pelting. A Case FIR No 207/2015 under section 13-39 ULA Act, 153 RPC was registered in Police Station Bijbehara and investigation was taken up. Efforts are on to nab the accused involved in spreading the rumours,” the statement added.
