Police on Thursday foiled a protest march of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers, who were demanding the implementation of 7th pay commission,  in Srinagar.

Scores of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers assembled at the Sher-e-Kashmir Park in the summer capital of the state and started a protest march towards Lal Chowk. The employees were demanding implementation of the seventh pay commission.

A large contingent of police stopped the protesting employees near Partap-park at Lal-chowk, However, as the teachers continued the march, the police swung into action and foiled the march by using water cannons.
