Jammu Kashmir Police has lambasted rightwing affiliated activist Madhu Purnima Kishwar for spreading lies on her Twitter handle.

Madhu Kishwar had tweeted: “Shocked to learn from @neelakantha that @spvaid –the DG of J&K actually suspended the SP who killed Burhan wani in an encounter–all because  @MehboobaMufti was upset at killing of Burhan. A DG playing doormat to jehadi politicians– Is this what IPS training is all about? (sic).”

“6. Its a shame that Hurriyat leaders who openly support terrorists killings,Pro-Pak separatists within various J&K parties are provided high powered security by Indian state but patriotic Kashmiris are left at mercy of murderous jehadis with IPS @spvaid also failing such people,” she wrote.

In another tweet, she wrote: “It is well known that Mehbooba Mufti was livid at the encounter killing of Burhan. She displayed her anger publicly. And DG @spvaid did her bidding & punished the officer who led that encounter as an object lesson for all. None came to wrongly punished officer’s defence.”

Responding to the tweet, the Jammu Kashmir Police said: “More than shocked to read concoted information being shared by a senior journalist like you @madhukishwar .No SP has been suspended.Kindly check before sharing such information (sic).”

Hizb Commander Burhan Wani was killed on late Friday evening of July 8, 2016 in Bemdoora village of Kokernag in district Anantnag of southern Kashmir.

The killing of Commander Burhan Wani led to mass-unrest for more than five months in Kashmir valley leading to death of over 90 people while thousands sustained pellet injuries, mostly lost their eye vision due to the pellet fury in Kashmir.

The government forces also arrested thousands of people and lodged them in different jails across the state, while hundreds were booked under the draconian law of Public Safety Act (PSA).
