SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have ordered a preliminary inquiry after a video surfaced on social media showing a man with a bare upper body being paraded with slippers and kept on the bonnet of a police vehicle in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bakshi Nagar.
According to an official order issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu the act by police personnel is deemed “unprofessional and unbecoming of members of a disciplined organisation” and warrants stern departmental action.
The SSP has directed the SDPO City North, Jammu, to carry out a preliminary inquiry into the matter and submit the findings to his office within a week. The order also states that necessary departmental proceedings will be initiated based on the inquiry’s outcome. (JKNS)
