Srinagar:
Media persons working with different media outlets were on Friday manhandled by police forces when they were discharging their duties in Sopore town.
Reports said that the media men covering the Friday clashes when apparently it infuriated the police personnel present there.
They said that the forces personnel including SHO Sopore Mudasir Geelani attacked the photojournalists of Varmul post Eeshan Peer and Mohd Younis of Gulistan injuring them badly.
Witness journalists present at the spot said that the police not only beat them but abused the media persons of Sopore and chased them away.
SP Sopore Harmeet Singh Mehta told Kashmir Life that he is aware of the reports. “I have sent a Dy SP to the spot to investigate the matter.”
