Three persons including an officer of Jammu and Kashmir Police and two Amarnath pilgrims on Monday died due to cardiac arrest in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, official sources said.

Official sources told GNS that an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police identified as Jogindar Singh hailing from Jammu was on Amarnath Yatra duty at Pandach in the district when he fell unconscious this morning. “He was immediately rushed to Ganderbal Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead,” they said.

Meanwhile, the two Amarnath pilgrims identified as Buhroo Lal Ji, 55, son of Dolu Ji hailing from Rajasthan and Akeel Chand, 54, son of Ashitosh hailing from Chandigarh died en route to Holy Cave, official sources said.

“Buhroo died at Brari Marg while Akeel Chand died at Sheshnag locations. Both complained of pain and subsequently fell unconscious. However, minutes later when they were rushed to nearby medical unit, they were declared brought dead,” official sources added.
