Expressing his concern and anguish over the midnight raids, unending arrest spree and issuing threat warnings to the pro-freedom people, Chairperson Hurriyat (g) Syed Ali Geelani Tuesday strongly condemned the “state terrorism of the puppet government”.

In a statement issued to KNS, Geelani said, “the police had launched an unending crackdown on the pro-freedom people and had made further arrests of hundreds of Hurriyat leaders and activists including Gh Nabi Sumji, Abdul Ahad Para, Mohammad Shafi Lone, Bashir Ahmad Andrabi Pulwama, Raja Mehraj-ud-din, Mushtaq Ahmad Dharmuna, Mohammad Shafi and Manzoor Ahmad Kupwara while as hundreds of houses of the common people and youths have also been raided.”

Geelani strongly condemned the midnight raids and arresting father in place of his son at many places and termed this approach of the state administration as “worst kind of state terrorism”.

Hurriyat (g) chairperson said, “the use of brutal force will achieve nothing for the government nor will we surrender our just and democratic demands in any way.”
