Police have recovered the construction material worth Lakhs of rupees from South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A police official told CNS that Ramky Infrastructure Limited contractor had lodged a report in which he had claimed that infrastructure material worth lakhs of rupees had gone missing from a construction site at Awantipora shortly after September 2014 floods. “The construction material worth Rs 30 lakhs was recovered from three different places of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district including Gangoo, Padgampora and Awantipora. The material including shuttering plates, Oxygen cylinders, cup locks, vibrator and other items,” the police said, adding that investigation has been started to locate the culprits.

Senior Vice-President Ramky Infrastructure Limited Ayaz Hussain said that from past few years Ramky material was looted at many places. “Police were helpful and it were their efforts that we were able to recover our lost material that costs more than Rs 30 lakhs,” he said.
