Srinagar police has taken cognizance of an incident of arson that took place at Padsahi Bagh, Srinagar Yesterday evening. A case has been registered and investigation has been started. A police statement said on Wednesday.
The statement said that on Tuesday evening, a mob attacked a joint residential house of Gowhar Sidiqi and Uzair Sidiqi sons of Mohammad Sidiq residents of Padshahi Bagh, Srinagar. The mob set ablaze two motorcycles parked in the premises of house and also pelted stones on the house.
Police restored the order and has started the investigation after registering a case in this regard.
Pertinently, some time back a youth, Zahid Iqbal died in mysterious conditions, who was a resident of the area. Locals said that tension brews in the area since then and the yesterdays attack was related to that case.
