Due to incessant rain and heavy snowfall since Monday morning, the Karwan-e-Aman Bus carrying 16 passengers got stuck near Red Bridge at Salamabad, Uri after a heavy land slide blocked Srinagar Muzzaffarabad road last evening, a police statement said.
“Police party of subdivision Uri along with the assistance of army provided food, woollen clothes and blankets to the stranded passengers who could not cross over the Red Bridge,” the statement said.
The statement further said that the rescue operation launched early Tuesday morning by the police with the assistance of beacon and the army. “After hectic efforts the Uri- Kaman Post road was cleared braving all odds and the bus carrying passengers was safely made to cross the shooting stone zone,” it said.
