J&K police on Sunday in its statement reported the incidents of the day. According to spokesman, a girl was injured in a road accident in Awantipora.

Giving details, an Alto car bearing registration number JK-22/0606 hit and injured a pedestrian identified as Heena daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad Allahi, a resident of Awantipora. The injured girl was shifted to the hospital for treatment.

In a fire incident, a residential house was damaged in Islamabad. The spokesman said that fire broke out in the residential house of Abdul Rehman Shah son of Abdul Aziz at Nambal, Mattan resulting in partial damage to the house.

Fire was brought under control by fire tenders with the assistance of police and locals of the area.

Further Police has arrested a drug peddler and recovered poppy straw on his instance in Qazigund area of Kulgam District.

The spokesman adds that acting on a specific information, a police party of police station Qazigund intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number PB07-0245 at main Chowk Qazigund. On checking of the vehicle police recovered ten kilograms of poppy straw. A man who was driving the vehicle has been taken into custody and was identified as Arimindar Singh son of Kuldeep Singh a resident of Ibrahimwala Kapoorthala Punjab.

In all the three incidents police station of the respective area has registered the acse.
