A male dead body of 24/25-years old man was found on Ratnipora road in Pulwama district. The deceased was later identified as Mohammad Shafi Sofi, son of Ghulam Hyder, a resident of Somboora, police said.
Sofi was working as a salesman in the business unit of Shah Electronic Shop at Srinagar. The dead body was taken to SDH Pampore for autopsy conducted by a team of doctors in presence of an executive magistrate, a police spokesman said.
Police said that Initial reports suggest that Sofi was tortured. There are multiple deep cut wounds on his legs and other body parts. Irfan’s neck was also wrapped with a rope which indicates the possibility of strangulation besides torture. No bullet injury found on his body.
In this regard, Police Station Pulwama has registered a case and further Investigation has been taken up.
