SRINAGAR: The authorities in Srinagar have intensified their crackdown on minor drivers operating e-rickshaws, seizing 25 such vehicles on Saturday to ensure strict adherence to regulations.

A special drive was conducted in Srinagar by the traffic department, led by Deputy Superintendent of Traffic Police Srinagar, Mehboob Ul Haq.

He stated that the drive targets individuals operating vehicles without licenses, particularly minors driving e-rickshaws.

Quoting Mehboob Ul Haq, KNO reported that approximately 25 e-rickshaws were confiscated during the operation. “The drive will continue as numerous complaints have been received regarding this issue. Hence, strict legal action will be taken against traffic violations,” he remarked.

He emphasized that e-rickshaw owners must comply with the law and refrain from allowing minors to drive their vehicles. “Any violation will be dealt with severely,” he warned.

Deputy Superintendent of Traffic Police Srinagar urged the public to report any violations in this regard to the police.
